Phoenix Park is the largest enclosed park in any European capital city. It is over twice the size of Central Park in New York and receives up to 10 million visitors every year.
Within the park you will find many historic buildings enclosed by their own boundaries – some are home to the people currently living there. Also within the extensive grounds are isolated structures including the old Magazine Fort, the Papal Cross and the Wellington Monument.
The varied landscapes within the park separating these buildings range from parklands and meadows to woodlands and are of considerable value for some rare and endangered flora and fauna.
Roaming the park since the 1600’s are herds of wild Fallow deer which were brought into the park when it was first created as a Royal Hunting Park.
The Visitor Centre, Phoenix Cafe, Dublin zoo, Aras an Uachtaráin, Farmleigh and so much more can be found within the grounds of the park. So much to explore..
Just recently Phoenix Park won Gold International Large Parks award (Global award)
